Filling large containers such as IBCs (totes) as well as drums is something many liquid filling machines can do, but add to that, needing a machine that conforms with sanitary regulatory requirements and the ability to unload tankers to containers as quickly as possible, presents a challenge. Enter the Ideal Pase PT-BF Electronic Net Weight Filling Machine, custom-designed for an edible oils producer.
This PT-BF was fitted with stainless-steel and Teflon wetted product contact parts with Tri-Clamp® connections. Cavity-filled ball valves prevent product buildup inside.
The client needed to fill IBCs (totes) as well as pallets of drums. It would have been great to have two different machines for each of those container types, but having a single machine that could do both and fit in an existing production line is more cost effective and easier to implement. The PT-BF bottom filling machine, with its relatively small footprint and ability to fill a wide range of containers – from 5 gallon pails, carboys, jerry cans, tight head drums and IBC (totes) up to 550 gallons – fit the bill. To increase fill rate, this PT-BF is fitted with a 2″ diameter stainless steel lance for bottom up filling. As the container is filled, the lance rises slowly just below the surface of the product to reduce foaming.
